stupid ball joint

On my 93 the upper front left ball joint is looking bad. The boot is split and its starting to make some clunking sounds under hard cornering. I call mazda, they want like $270 or $280 for the upper arm!! Ive checked around on the net but have had no luck. Where is a good place to get one other then mazda? I know someone hes to be selling them cheaper then $280.

Please help

Thanks

You should definitely replace or repair the joint as soon as possible. My lower control arm ball joint popped out on me while I was driving. I was told by a few people that the joint was repairable with the right machinery, and I was also told that it wasn't. I decided to look for an oem piece, but it was expensive, somewhere in the $400-$500 range. I got lucky and ended up finding the arm at a engine importing shop. I picked it up for $50. You could try local junkyards, or check the parts for sale section. A lot of people part out their cars and it shouldn't be hard to get a hold of one for a reasonable price. good luck.
