Unhappy strut brace or torque brace???

i was wondering which one to get. I read that the torque brace helps shifting especially from 2nd to 3rd but i was wondering does it do the samething as strut brace and exactly what is a strut brace and how to you put it in the back of the car and can you put a torque brace and strut brace on your engine.

don't get something you don't know anything about. That sounds like both. Do a search on both of those items. They are very different things. If you don't know what they are, its a suprise if you really have an FD.

The strut brace reduces front end body flex and helps keep the front end aligment more constant when making sharp turns. Thus it helps with turn-in responce.

The torque brace reduces drive train twisting and helps shifting.

You make the decision.

Yes, you can put both braces on your engine. Do a search on "torque brace" and you should be able to find pictures of engines that have both installed. The torque brace links the upper intake manifold to the frame of the car next to the ABS unit. You should be able to pick it out quite easily. Strut brace....well, it links your struts together. In other words, it'd be the big bar that crosses the middle of the engine bay between the mounting locations on top of the suspension bolts.

Yes, I have them both on my FD. I noticed an improvement with each addition. You should do some more research on these mods. My recommendation is to get both and spend as little $$$ on getting each item. They are fairly simple to make so I wouldn't get caught up in the name branding that drives up the cost for mods.

check ebay for the cheap strut tower bar and search for a how to on the this forum on how to build/make your own torque brace.

You can probably get BOTH for less than $60 bucks...
