A street port generally consists of porting out (making larger) the intake and exhaust ports on the rotor housing. This in-turn causes more power. I have heard of price quotes somewhere in the neighborhood of $300? Artguy may have more info on the subject than I do.

Streetporting will shift your torque peak upwards -- you will lose low end torque but gain high-end power. It will also increase the difficultly of passing emissions (if you have to worry about that). The amount of power depends greatly on the size and shape of the port but I think the average gain is 20-25 rwhp.

Note that cetchup's price of $300 assumes the engine is in the process of being rebuilt and is completely disassembled.

A street port extends the intake ports and opens up the exhaust ports. This allows more air flow into and out of the engine, and changes the port timing, depending on how large the ports are opened up. The actual porting doesn't cost that much to do, but you have to take apart the engine to do so.

Rynberg is correct. I am in the process of rebuilding my engine at the moment and that's why I gave that price.

ok, cool. I was just wondering if it was worth it, but i hae a new motor with 6,000 mi on it, so i am in to hurry to dismantle it. with The improved flow, is there any more wear and tear on the motor?

I can second that. I paid like $270 for the street port *while* my engine was being rebuilt.
