strange intermittent noise
this is going to be hard to describe but its driving me crazy.
the noise seems to be random, i try to recreate it and when i think i have it, it makes the noise again under a different condition.
the noise sounds like a bearing possibly. has the funky sloppy bearing sound and only lasts for about a half second.
i can feel the noise in my gas pedal when it happens. best i can do at this time to recreate it is to depress the clutch pedal and release it. shortly after i release the clutch pedal it will make this noise but not every time. it seems most prominent around 2600~2700 rpm
im hoping throw out bearing or pilot bearing or even an engine accessory like alternator or air pump but it is driving me insane.
has anybody experienced this problem before? am i going to just have to wait for it to completely fail before it can be narrowed down?
as always, thanks for your help and input.
