Talking Strange clicking noise when brake is applied?

I had this "problem" when i purchased the car...but anyways...i hear it in my driveway a lot, when i apply brake pedal, something inside the engine makes a click noise, I thought that there might be a problem with the brake booster bolts, maybe they are loose, but it feels and looks secure and tight, does anyone have any clue...Thanks...

Sounds more like a problem with your ABS unit to me. I may be wrong, but I don't think the check valve is going to make a clicking noise. Basically all it does is limit and somewhat filter the amount of air going to the brake booster. It would sound like an air leak if that valve were bad.

Well it only clicks once, so every time i press the brake pedal, i hear that noise once...its not loud enough to hear while driving, only when parked, and only notice it in my driveway, its kind of silent...so any ideas...

Could be the backing plates on your brake pads. could be a problem with the calipers. Take a wheel off and have a friend press the pedal while listening for it close to the caliper area.

The check valve is in the hose going to the brake booster it is there to prevent boost pressure from entering the diafram (only allows vacuum to assist in appling pressure) doesn't filter or anything exotic and doubt if it is your clicking noise. I believe someone had this before and it turned out to be one of the metal vacuum tubes against the fire wall when the brake was applied. A search might be fruitful.

Same thing happens to me as well. I only notice it when in my garage.

Let me know if you solve it.

As far as I know, the ABS still works because I had to engage it once a few months back.

Well to clarify a few ideas, the engine does not ned to be on to hear the noise so it should not be the abs is something simple...but not visible...i am yet to find a friend to help press the brake pedal for me, so i will check more monday, I am way 2 busy working on weekends...thanks for all the support...more comments suggestions are most defiently welcome...
