a few questions about my exhaust .....

Hello..

I am a new Rx-7 owner as of 2 weeks ago and I have a few questions please. I recently bought my silver 93 and installed a boost guage, an Apexi Gt-Spec exhaust and a 3in downpipe. Those are my only mods so far and I just love the sound....., but y do some rx-7's have that brappp sound to them. My exhaust is loud and deep, but how can i get that sound?

Also, is this the right order for my next modifications?
1. Intake
2. Intercooler
3. Fuel Management
4. Mid-pipe
5. Fuel pump upgrade
6. Radiator upgrade

Radiator and intake at the same time cause you will have trouble getting the stock air box in with a new radiator. It's possible but still a pain. Also replace the AST then go for the performance mods. Don't forget an ECU very important if you don't wanna ruin your turbos/engine just in the incident your car wants to overboost on your stock ECU.

up that fuel system, next!! 3 mods and upgrade the fuel system or else. We are talking fuel pump, injectors (at least cleaned and balanced) or new ones, and ecu. If you do anymore than you have now, you are playin Russian Roulette. Did I mention an after market temp gauge. My stocker **** wont even move until my Defi temp gauge says 250 f. It did it once cause the coolant level dropped lower than the sensor. For a minute. Get one now. then start with your list

You need to upgrade the ECU if you decide to do more modifications. You don't need to get new injectors. A fuel pump isn't a bad idea but if it's not broken then why fix it. IMO, you're more likely to have cooling issues than fuel issues.

Get a boost gauge, radiator, an AST, and the list goes on and on.

Congrats! If you want an even louder Fd get a Mid-pipe and an Apexi N1 exhaust. You'll need a PFC for sure an upgraded fuel system to support it.

As long as boost is kept under control, there is absolutely no need to upgrade the stock fuel system with three mods. The stock fuel pump and injectors are perfectly fine to 300 whp or more, which will typically require quite a bit more than three modifications. A PFC is a good idea when you head north of three mods though.

The brapbrapbrap thing is caused by engine porting. No way to do that unless the engine is removed and disassembled.

Where in PA are you?

I didn't have a problem with my air box when i put my Koyo radiator in? Maybe if he is relocating his radiator he will.

Like dgeesaman said, the brap brap noise you hear is from engine porting, which is pretty much equivalent to camming a piston engine. Search for "bridge porting" or "street porting"
