Strange brake problem with parking break...
Ok, this is going to be a little hard to explain without pictures but I'll try my best. I left the car for two days with the parking break on and when I released it the rear left caliper stays stuck against the disc. I thought maybe it was the cable, so I jacked the car up and took the wheel off. This is the strange part, the brake cable doesn't seem to be doing much...the rear right wheel spins freely. (Back to the right side) So, I disconnected the brake cable from the caliper and the part of the caliper that turns when pulled by the cable seems to be stuck. I took the spring off and tried to move it by hand and it won't budge. What I'm thinking is that it must be stuck on? But the weird thing also is that why isn't the parking break working on the right side of the car now? I let some oil soak into the part where the spring is and I'm going to check it out in a bit, but do you guys have any suggestions on what to check or what to do? I'll have to check the brake cable out to make sure it still works...maybe it broke at the same time, but I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong with the caliper for now. TIA -Joe
