Stock vs Bonez hi flow cat?

Am in the middle of doing an m2 downpipe replacement, and I'm looking up my main cat and I see BONEZ written on it... Now this car was supposed to be bone stock, with the exception of an AST and Efini Y pipe.. I'm curious if the previous owner originally had it modified, then put as much back to stock before selling it...

Bonez never made stock cats, just high flow, right? It just made me wonder considering the original pre cat is in there, but with a high flow cat??? It doesn't look all nice and shiny or anything, looks like a stock exhaust would normally look. I'm confused!

This is the first FD I've been under, so I'm unaware of what the stock stuff looks like. Can anybody enlighten me please?

Hey - just changed mine a couple of weeks ago. You may have a Rotary Performance Cat. PM me your email address and I'll send you pics from the guy who I bought it from...

Got the pictures.. Can't remember what the other writing was on it, but it definately had BONEZ written in that same font on the main part of the cat. Just the pipes on both ends weren't as shiny. I'll take a wet rag to 'em tonight to see if they look the same as in your pics.

The Bonez high flow unit is MUCH SMALLER than the factory catalyst. The Factory unit has more heat shielding around it, and has the air-inlet hose attached to it. The Bonez will have an air-inlet nipple.

It did seem like it had quite a bit of heat shielding around it, and I'm not too sure on the dimensions but I'll check for the nipple vs. hose.

Yeah, the stock cat is a big turd with a ton of steel heat shields - probably weighs 40 lbs. A hi-flo cat is MUCH smaller as earlier stated and most will be stainless steel. Things can get pretty dirty under there. Seems odd. I actually have a Meineke hi-flo cat that's welded on a midpipe (cheap ) and it's extremely small - kinda like a small bubble in the midpipe. Some of the other hi-flo's like N-Tech, Rand. Tech, and Bonez have a squarish look to them but are much smaller than the stock giant

If it says bonez on it then it is a hi-flo cat from RP. If the previous owner said the car was stock then either he did not know anything abt the car or he lied.

Many people put it back to stock b/c its easier to sell that way and they can get more money selling the hi perf parts. I knew a guy who was doing this and selling his silver 93, he had a bonez hi-flo cat and a midpipe but not the original cat. Is your car silver and did you buy it in dallas?
