Stock twins vs. Efini twins vs. BNR stage 3
What are the differences between these turbos? Are the 99 twins that much better than the 93 stock twins. Also are BNR stage 3's really worth the $2500 or whatever vs just going single? What are your opinions?

What is your rear wheel HP goal?
Up to around 325 rwhp or so, I'd just use the stock twins, used-condition stock twins, 99 specs... whatever is the cheapest.
If you want 350+, quit screwing around and get a single turbo. Much simpler, etc.

99spec and 93... belive me you wont notice a differnce physical wise... i mean the acual turbos...... people just go for the 99spec because its semi-new.... well basically not 12+years old
im a real fan of the BNRs.... you can run nonseq which i think is great beacause you dont have the hassel of the rats nest (all the vac lines and solenoids under the intake manifold) but you get boost from 2500-8000rpm....... i look at is like best of both worlds of a single and twins
single... as far as the complications of the twin turbo system (especially the RX7s) is eliminated... although your faced with complications of a single.
280-320rwhp - 99spec rebuilds
350-500rwhp - BNRs
350-700rwhp+ - single

While the re-construction of my car is going on I couldn't help but think that if the budget was there it would be so much more simple to have a single instead of the twin turbo mess.
Personally I would go for an Aspec GT3574 if you want something relatively cheap and that can move some air. I think that the GT3574 kit is around the same price as BNR's and you eliminate all that twin turbo mess, much easier trouble shooting and weighs less.

they're just waiting for someone to make 400rwhp on sequential bnrs. I've had non-sequentials since i've owned my car. I have yet to ride or drive a sequential car- but i've noticed that w/ sequentials i can have boost where i don't now. Not to mention that a sequential car at 4500rpm is running non-sequential.
This all baffles me. I intend to go BNR when the financial aspect comes into alignment.

'99 (sequential) twins-smog
Anyone have any comments ref. the smog check impact of replacing twins on a '93 with '99 twins? I live in SCAL and am paranoid about impacting my ability to consistantly pass the relatively severe smog check here.
Assurances or otherwise welcome
Thanks

About the guy who is waiting for BNR's to be financially viable I ask why? I mean why wait for twins? Mentally, I still don't understand why people prefer twins over a single?

Now if you want to run non-seq I don't see why you would buy twins.
