where does this white string/cable go to?

also i noticed that i taped this black piece to the inside of the steering wheel, does anyone know where it goes?

after further research, i was able to confirm this part is a protector tab of the clock spring

It hooks onto a tab on the back of the airbag, it's just for cable management/so the airbag doesn't fall out and drop when you unbolt it. I actually took a pic when I swapped my steering wheel for this very reason, this is the stock routing:
