Stock shift **** question

I noticed some were vented in the front and some were not. Are both kinds just randomly chosen for each individual FD?

I think one belongs to a 93 and the other belongs to a 94 and up

the interior was changed in later models. the 'pourous' ones are from a 93, not sure about the smooth

My mechanics 93 had the vented one , his 94 has the smooth one .

cork sport says they have mazdaspeed ***** but rx7store says they dont ship them to the US or something... and when i talked to the cork sport AIM SN they talked like a retard. so does anyone know whether they have it or not?

I orderd a mazdaspeed short shifter & mazdaspeed carbon fiber shift **** from cork sport last week. They said both items are on back order and I should have them in a month. We shall see.

I think you mean perforated, not vented.

...and it actually is NOT perforated. It just has a bunch of punchmarks in it to make it LOOK perforated.
What kills me is that Mazda made every item on this vehicle functional, yet they cheezed out on this one, along with the steering wheel trim.

Go figure - there must have been a bean counter involved here.

I have way too much time on my hands......
