DOes anyone know how to take off the oil pressure sending unit?? And where is the temp sending unit....the one below the oil press???
My stock gauges are busted and I was planning on replacing them with some new aftermarket one. Anyone try out the Autometer Nexus series?? Looks pretty

Just unscrew the oil sending unit.
The temperature sending unit below is only for the water temperature gauge.
The ecu uses a seperate water temperature sending unit on the backside of the thermostat /waterpump assembly.

It is easier to get to the oil sending unit from the top or the bottom??
Which water temp sending unit would I need to replace to have an aftermarket gauge work? ...the one below the oil sending unit or the one behind the 'backside of the thermostat/waterpump assembly'??
Would it be just easier, as well as accurate if I just tapped into the stock electrical wires behind the instrument cluster??

I found it easier to get to it from the top...for some reason theyre really crappy! Almost everyone's sending unit goes bad. I'm using an electric HKS gauge which had an adapter and so made things a bit easier. I left the stock unit mounted but upluged since the tab for the electrical connector broke. The funniest thing, the wire grounded itself on the subframe and made the stock gauge bounce up and down...parked it for 3 days and drained my battery(got the battery about a week ago too).
As for the water temp, since i run a pfc and it displays the stock sensor's actual temp i ended up welding a bung for a mechanical sending unit on the outlet hose of the rad to monitor its efficiency and difference between the the block and rad. Pointless really since i rarely look at them but seemed like a nice idea at the time.

Oil pressure I presume? You can use a metric wrench from the left side. Takes a bit of patience. Also the wrench may interfere with the top right spark plug, but a wrench will work...
