Stock Seat Rails Snapped!

Hi guys,

I was getting into my car the other day, and one of the stock seat rails snapped in half...so now the front left part of my seat isn't connected to anything. I need to fix this problem ASAP, and I have a few options I was considering.

1) I can take it to my body shop to have them weld the old stock rail back together
2) Buy new seat rails

I would prefer to get new seat rails, but I have NO idea where to find them besides Ray Crowe, and OEM will be pretty expensive. Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Daniel

This happened to me about a month and a half ago, the front left tab broke off from the rest of the rail. I just got it welded back on, hasn't given me problems since.

Good time to buy RZ's

On a more serious and less extreme note, post up a WTB in the Marketplace. There are many parts slingers that have access to these, as well as car partouts underway.

Yeah, good used rails should be pretty reasonable price wise. This is NOT a common problem at all.

Also, new rails will probably be a fortune and just won't be worth the "newness". Get some good used ones and be done with it.

I'd try not to drive the car until you get it fixed, having that broken is a safety risk.

Why, so that the rails can break where they mount to the seat ?

Definitely look into some nice non-rusty used rails. I actually have some new seat rail components squirreled away, PM me with which specific piece you need. Shot in the dark, but you never know

Weld it if you can. Mine did the same thing a few years ago on a 2nd to 3rd shift, it has held just fine.
