Concurring with what Jim said, it appears that overboosting is what kills most engines and not running lean at less than full boost. Wade Lantham has done some testing with modded cars running a STOCK ECU and quite a few mods on a wideband. http://www.wvinter.net/~flanham/wlan.../3modrule.html

The basic gist is that you don't start to run lean until you go over 10psi of boost, then the car quickly leans out and goes boom. If you look at the bottom, he had a highly modded car running a stock ecu at 10psi and the A/F was still in the low 11s, which is basically spot on, so, you may want to just get a boost controller and then dyno the car and see what you come up with. If you're worried about it blowing up on the dyno, just stick in a tank of 100octane.

as long as the main cat is on you don't have to worry too much...stick with the 3 mod rule.

On a related note...I can't seem to maek sense out of this IC thing. Upgrading your IC just means colder air not more air right? Shouldn't your A/F ratio be the same as the stock IC, the only difference being the air is colder?

Actually its both more air and colder air. Colder air is denser, so that in itself makes it more air. However, on top of that, most aftermarket ICs have a lower pressure drop, so you'll have more boost making it past the IC as well.

Cameron Worth is the owner of Pettit Racing, if I'm not mistaken.
I just assumed his last name was Petit. The guy I bought the FD from kept on calling him Cameron, and if he mentioned the last name, I forgot.

FYI, dyno readings of my FD are here
