Stock R-2 VR Paint Question

It's factory paint, Vintage Red, 1994 R-2. From what I've read in searches, it's a non-clearcoat.

Is it lacquer type or urethane?

Pretty sure it Lacquer. I had my car repainted at my local Mazda dealer and I remember him saying that a few times.
