Stock primaries vs. ID725 question

I have come across a small problem with my project. My plan was to use stock primaries with ID2000 secondaries so I only bought a secondary rail and secondary injectors. On one of the 550s the plug section broke so now I need a new primary injector and maybe a primary rail.

I've read in some old threads that IDs have a better spray pattern and idle quality is fine but I've also read stock 550s having better idle quality and easier to tune since they are smaller.

Stock primaries are true and tested but if id725s (or FIC or Bosch EV) won't give me a headache I guess they are the ones to use costwise and for future room for growth.

Btw my ecu is Apexi Power FC.

Can people who swithed from stock primaries to ID725s give feedback on idle quality, transition, ease of tune etc. Thanks.

The good thing i've found about Injector Dynamics is the very low Dead Time. I do believe the 725's have a dead time of like .485ms at 14v where from research i've seen the stock 550's have a 1.00+ms dead time so technically it would be easier to tune ID725's for primaries. Maybe i'm biased, but hell i'm trying to sell my ID 725's now so i can move my ID1000's to the primary slot and use ID2000's as secondarys. I'm also by no means a professional tuner, but my car with ID725/1000s idles perfectly at 13.7

Thanks TinMan, that's good to know.

Do ID725s have diffusers built-in so I don't need to use the plastic oem diffusers with them?

I have 1000 primary's and stock diffuser removed, idle is perfect with no problems, you should be able to swap to the 725s and just change from 550-725 on the pfc setting and it will idle just fine

I strongly advice you to remove the stock diffusers on both pri and sec..

^^ Will do that.

I already have a CJM secondary rail so I am ordering a CJM primary rail. And also ordering Bosch EV14 (725cc) injectors. Will definitely remove the diffusers since new Bosch injectors have much better atomisation. Secondary diffusers were already removed when I changed to FIC2000s.

Yeah I agree with him. I removed my diffusers as well. I havent seen any drawbacks to doing it.
