stock oil pressure gauge question

I just got the new motor in and I was driving and noticed that the oil pressure gauge was at nearly zero in 5th gear- barely budged when put in neutral- had bneen driving the car for a bit so it warmed up. When initially strated the needle was at the top at 120. any thoughts?

Stock gauges suck IMO. My oil pressure gauge is all over the place. I have a new engine as well and I noticed that sometimes it drops down a lot but mostly just sits at around the middle.

was the pressure sender unit replaced with the engine? Try pulling it out and cleaning it.

The sender is located directly below the oil filter - try cleaning just the wire connector first - that fixed my jumpy oil pressure gauge prob.

sounds like a bitch to get to- I just did an oil change on her yesterday and it was a pain just getting the filter out! can you get to the unit with the filter in place from on top?
