Stock Injector Failure (companion to 1300cc Injector Failure Poll)

Have you experienced any stock injector failure? This should be helpful information when taken as a baseline for the results of the 1300 cc injector failure poll. So far it looks like there is a failure rate of 1 in 5 for 1300s.

My 75k mileage injectors seem to be working just fine.

Jeff, just so everyone understands what they are voting on.... You mean "injector failure", not some o-ring leak or something like that, correct?

Mine failed at 68K due to leaks coming thru the injector body.

I wasted hours trying to figure out the leaks and though it was the o-ring but nope, it was the injectors b/c once I pressurized the fuel system, it leaked out thru the body.

At 68K my stockers had "good" flow and pattern according to RC. After cleaning, they had "excellent". I had previously run Red Line S2 cleaner through them...

I had an 850 stock secondary fail. I had it cleaned and it sat around for a while before it went back in the car. It was stuck (no click when power was applied, but there was continuity int he coil, IIRC). It looked fine from the outside (no cracks or anything). I suspect some kind of failure due to the lag between having it cleaned and installing it. I was thinking that the cleaning fluid or something dried and made the injector stick. However, it could have been anything.

ditto and confirmed with RC engineering...if you have you injectors, cleaned/balanced/calibrated DO NOT let them sit for over a week. (something I had not heard until it happen to me.)

I would think the clips break off and fail before the stock injectors.

Ive broken off the 2 clips to the Primarys and fixed em.

Absolutely, the same thing happened to me on my old Supra.. injectors sat for a couple months. Once I fired up the new motor it was running rough on four cylinders, figured out it was the injectors since the plugs were clean when I pulled them from those cylinders.. I spoke with someone at RC and they said it is common. Sent them back for 'reactivation' (whatever that entails) free of charge and they worked fine.
