Stock exhaust pics?

Has anyone got a pic of a stock standard exhaust system?, I have searched but you'd be suprised how hard it is to find one.

The reason I'm asking is that I've been told this exhaust system that this local guys selling off an FD is stock, but looking at it I wouldnt really know as my FD came with aftermarket.
This system only has two parts to it , down pipe and then that connects to a straight through exhaust right to the back to the muffler. I was of the understanding that stock FD system had 3 parts??

Stock FD has a DP with a HUGE pre-cat, then the main cat, then the cat-back you see above... I HAD all 3 pieces and woulda taken a pic for you, but I sold the muffler =( Sorry dude.

The first pic has the markings of a modified stock cat, looks like they cut the first few inches of the inlet off to use the flange, then welded up a 3" pipe all the way back to an aftermarket exhaust. Definitely not stock.

It does appear to be a resonator where the CAT should be so I would imagine it's not TOO loud...??? Just check it and make sure there's no leaks... $30 is cheap!

so is having a resonator ( where the CAT normally is ) like having a less restrictive CAT but less noise?

To my knowledge, it's like having no cat at all. It's main purpose is to make it quietier. However, putting this on your car may be harmful depending on what mods you have/don't have. Do a search for using a 'mid pipe', which basically means you don't have a cat. Most people i've spoken to don't advise to do such a thing, you'll learn why after you search.

the pic spekdah put up is the same as i took off my jdm fd (well, to where the catalyser was on his pic anyway - i have a catback system on there atm) if u put a silencer box instead of the cat it will be louder than it was with the cat but not as loud as mine will be im just decatting it and havin a straight thru . cops will love me! is it true that when u decat the fd u should put. whats the noise limits in the states? i think its 102db here.

A resonated midpipe is just a straight through pipe with a resonator to deaden sound but not restrict exhaust flow like a cat. Basically think of a "cherry bomb" or "glasspack". The outter diameter of the pipe will be larger so the inner flow would remain 3" and have room for the resonating materials. If that makes any sense at all. I'm terrible at explaining things.....
