stock BOV questions
I have the stock bov vented and with the car idleing or revving, I can hear it sucking in air. Should it do this?
I am only running 0.6 bar now and think the bov may be leaking.
I have a Blitz bov in my garage from my last car, will I have to call Blitz and get an adapter from them to make it fit?

I had the hood popped, looking over things, when the car was timing down (turbo timer) and barely heard a sucking, put my ear up to the the end of the bov and that was where it was coming from.
After the car shut off I heard like a gurgle from inside the bov hose.
It might not have been a sucking but there was air flowing somewhere in there.

Mine does the same thing. I know a few other people's do as well. Prolly sounds like a low hiss or " PPPPSSSSSSSHHHHHHH" at partial throttle. Under boost its fine though. I just put a small K&N crankcase vent filter on mine.
Not a very good pic but it s all i have of it.

I had a K&N on mine too but the bov isn't suppose to open until the the butterflys close.....right?
Would it be safe to take the bov off and plug up the hole and take it for a test drive to see if I get full boost?

I bet it's not sucking..and it's blowing instead. you should try putting your thumb over it or something. It's gonna leak some boost unless you're at full throttle (or at least near full throttle).

no do not do that...
pluging the bov is very bad for your turbos. just think what happens if the turbos are spinning and the pressure keeps building up with no where to go. if you're wondering if it is normal for the bov to be expelling air durring idle, i'd like to reassure you it is normal. the reason why is because they are feeling vacuum from within the upper intake manifold. also, it does release air when u are driving. The reason again being that the bov is recieving engine vacuum. I know what you're thinking, "but shouldn't the turbos give me 10 psi boost at 3000 rpm? " yes they are giving you boost, but its being blead off. The reason is because at this point you have probably stoped accelerating and are cruising at 3000 rpm right? Well at this point, the engine has caught up to the turbos and is using the compressed air as fast as the turbos push it out. now the intake manifold will be under slight vacuum, and this will open the bov. The extra air from the turbos are released causing your engine rely more on vacuum, which in turn opens the bov even more. You get? this is the hiss you hear while cruising.
now if your talkiing about the bov's releasing air while you are pounding it, then that's another story, that means they are broken. my suggestion is get a tial bov it might not sound as cool as the others, but will preform the best.
