stinky exhaust question

is there anyway to get rid of the stinky smoking exhaust??
3"dp, rx7store 3"resonated mp, apexi gt(2.75"-3.75")

the smell i can deal with.. just need to avoid reversing into the stink cloud. as for the smoking situation not sure if its just tonight and the beach weather.. but i dont think the smoke is thick enough to smoke-screen the cops just yet.

would a good tune straighten out the stinky/smoky situation?? its a good puff of smoke whenever i gas.. even a little bit. (no flames tho!)

sidenote... its not as loud as people say it is! its much more quiet than i would have ever expected.

TY all.

The best way to get rid of the smell is to stop driving an rx-7.. That or throw the cat back in.

As for the smoke, do you pre-mix? If so, how much, and do you still have a functioning OMP. My buddies FD smokes a bit as well, but I think that's because he doesn't drive it too often. He is also running on the PFC's base map.

yes a tune will help. If @ WOT the white cloud happens, it could mean you running a tad lean, which if so you should well... get a tune. If your running a 3" Cat back with resonated mid-pipe, things are going to be a lot more stinky vs the stock exhaust.

You could always get a high flow cat, and that should resolve the smell, to a extent, but your driving a rotary, and that's one of the perks

A high flow cat will resolve the smell and make it possible to pass smog.

you need a cat, a tune, and an air pump, to solve your problem. nothing cheapens an FD more than foul smell and smoke when driving down the street. people will say "nice car but it stinks whats wrong with it" so get if fixed and have some pride in ownership. also you will never get a hot chick to sit for one minute in a smelly car that smokes..LOL...

after a long drive yesterday the smoke has cleared completely, and the smell is less smelly thankfully.

not driving the 7 would possibly kill me. i had withdrawls until i bought the fd (when someone negligently rearended my fc) been rotary since 17(now 21), fc and this fd(est.07)
omp still works, map is a bit modded.. but going in for a real tune in a week since i finally had time to throw my r-mp on. prev. owner said it would never pass smog, i kind of believe it since it is holding on to life at 110k now... that and he still had removed emissions despite returning it to stock form.

ty for your advices. should have gone HF, but the work is done... and on the up-side inside the car never gets the smell due to the angle of exhaust...

the bonez will be going in the next FD(after graduation). lol

again TY everyone and am glad the tune will tone it down a bit.
