That article was understandable because it was read more like the 20 cars that made the most impact in the past 20 years. Which is why the minivan and other less desireable performance cars were in there. What was really tragic was when Automobile left out the FD about 2 years ago when they had the 100 greatest sports cars of all time issue!

The magazine is really good, but it will even get better as it rolls along. David E. is the man!
I also happen to know that the Publisher is a 3rd gen owner.......;-)

Automobile magazine... I had to tell my dad that's a car mag... for people that don't like to drive. Their opinion does not IMO reflect any enthusiast I've ever met and therefor have bocotted the mag. I've never bought a copy, never will.
Road & Track
Car & Driver ::: thought they have allot of the same, exact, stories as R&T. Same publisher.
and then the specialty mags,

I didn't read the article, but from the other comments posted up in the page you guys uploaded, and the title being "20 Greatest cars that changed the game forever," I'd say we have to make a distinction between the greatest (sports)cars ever made (which is what we're focusing on), and the most *influential* (sports)cars ever made (which seems to be the article's target).
While the FD is indeed an incredible car, and def. among the very top (def the top 10) pure sportscars ever made (IMO), I highly doubt it was one of the most influential, and as thus prob didn't do much to "change the game forever." A glaring example of a car that DID, however, would be the Miata (yes, you read that right). The Miata (back in '91 I believe) revived the entire sports car concept at a time when it was pretty much dying/dead. It went on to be the most successful (set the record for sales) sports car in history. That's definitely very influential (as could be argued the Dodge Viper did, like other ppl's comments alluded to, since it sparked the American sportscar revolution). But would any of those rank as some of the all-time greatest sportscars? Not in my book.
That's my $0.02, and I'm sticking to it.
