Steve Kan shooting some flames

....and not the kind you thought!!!

3 Rotor flames

We were all nervous when we saw the flames...but Steve calmly said, "At least I know my coils are working."

He ever figure out what was causing it to throw flames like that?

iv'e ran a couple cars with out a manifold and it gets old fast as the noise leads to undue pain........

it dirties up your engine bay in a hurry...........

lol... yeah about that.........

That was actually on a piston.......

Timing was off and so it was flooded good

unflooded it by pulling fuel pump fuse and then adjusted to what i'd imagine was very retarded and ended up blowing all that soaked up gas in the muffler.

The flame probably propagated from the exhaust valve and once it hit the muffler that was soaked it blew it open at the seams.

were gonna take a pic of it this weekend.

we were rolling in the grass laugh'n our asses off for about a minute.

Cool video. When was that shot?

IIRC, Steve is using some GM coils with the Haltech, so that's probably why he was happy to verify their function.

it had a good 3 inch wide hole in it where it split from end to end.

yeah we had a good time......... I was bout 5ft away from it when it blew up.

LOL.... i also laughed for about 5min when we found out his overheating and idle'n problem was due to radiator fluid coming out of that exhaust a couple months earlier (fixed head gasket- then the muffler blew up which might have played a part in it).

Yea, Steve was aiming to do a 3-rotor conversion in 2 weeks flat...and I think he pretty much hit the mark (minus some time he had to sideline the project for that 7 they had in the competition last month).
