Steering Linkage?

Hey guys... my buddy's FD was broken into last night... (sn: Batmobile). You can read about it in the West forum. Anyhow, the steering wheel no longer is connected to the rack, as the wheel does not turn the front wheels... the steering wheel pretty much spins freely with a little resistance and clicking.

I'm thinking that as the thieves pounded and pried the steering wheel (to get "the club" off)... somehow caused the steering linkage to get disconnected somewhere. I've heard of this happening when some people try to install aftermarket steering wheels (when they bang on the stock wheel to get it off). If anyone has any insight it... batmobile and myself will greatly appreciate it. It's hard enough as it is dealing with such an atrocity. Just want to help get it back up again a.s.a.p. Thanks in advance!

Your best bet would be to disassemble it and try to find the place in the steering linkage that is broken.

Sorry to here about your car, but, at least the thieves they didn't get too far with it.
