steering feels loose

how loose does the fd steering feel? seems like there's too much play. i can turn it in either direction a little before the car actually starts turning. basically it doesn't feel tight.

When was the last time you got an alignment? ALignments always do wonders for me . How many miles are on your car? Check your sway bar mounts they may be broken. ahh hell just check your entire suspension, make sure its up to par. If you have alot of milage you might want to get some new bushings. Also your suspension might just be getting worn out.

A better excuse to get coilovers sways bushings etc etc etc

Yea, listen to Rx-7$4$me. My FD's steering is about as tight as steering can get. Response is instantaneous.

No play here either. Love the steering, very precise, plenty of road feel.

There is suppose to be a little freeplay with the steering wheel. When the steering wheel is straight with the front wheels, you should be able to wiggle it left and right slightly before the wheels move.

The steering should feel direct with a minimal amount of slack. Sounds like worn tie-rods or bushings. Time to jack it up and observe the play while someone else moves the wheel.
