Alignment /Corner-balancing Questions

Couple of questions:

1. On my '93, I recently modded my suspension, and wheels and tires. I installed a set of Ground Control coilovers (Eibach ERS over GAB Super Rs), 18" CCWs (9.5" fronts, 10" rears), corner-balanced it, and had it aligned.

I've discovered that I'm a little too low, keep scraping (more than a little) the front lip entering and leaving my driveway. Will I impact the alignment and/or the corner-balancing if I raise all four corners the same amount?

2. I am thinking about getting another set of street wheels/tires, and using the CCWs for the track, or vice-versa. What impact would mounting 17" wheels have on the corner-balancing and/or alignment?

Thanks

Nice setup.

So long as you raise/lower the suspension by the same amount, I doubt your alignment settings would change.

I don't think the wheels will make a difference either especially if they are the same overall diameter. However, what size tires do you plan on running on the 17s vs. 18s? Not sure about that situation.

Changing the height of the suspension WILL change your aligmnent settings, but if you raise them all equally, your corner-balancing will be ok. That is why it is best to let a new suspension settle and get it to the height you want it first. That said, a tiny change in ride height probably won't have that much of an effect....

If you switch wheels+tires, you should be fine as long as they have consistent overall diameters.

change of ride height will affect the toe most likely, but like everyone said it should be okay if you adjust the height slightly and evenly. But i would get it realigned. Tires are expensive and if it gets uneven wear on it the car might not go straight even with a proper alignment.

Adjusting the height slightly probably won't cause a perceptible change to you. However it most likely will affect the corner-balancing unless you are precise with the raising.

If your car isn't even that low, depending on how much you drive it, I would try to find 2 metal plates and just move them to the driveway when you need to pull out. Usually it's when you're pulling out that it scrapes, and not vice-versa - unless the car is pretty low.

It's pretty low. Scraping both going out and coming in. I do have some small ramps. Maybe I'll try that first.

Also, have decided to get another set of 18" rims rather than go for 17"s, even though that'd be cheaper.
