Steel Braided A/C?

Has anyone tried to use steel braided line and an aftermarket condensor with the stock pump and dryer? Would this be possible to do? Im thinking i could mount a small condensor on the passanger side where the r1 oil cooler goes. And use all earls or aeroquip line. I cant figure out how i would go about using the stock setup since my fmic takes up so much damn room.

Anyone see any problems i could run into doing this?

Thanks, Mike

the condenser needs a fan to pull air through it when you stop as well

it would need to be Barrier hose. you can buy "flexible" rubber ac hose and get fittings crimped on the ends, ford uses it alot. and yea you would need a small puller fan also

That location would likely be too small for a condensor. If the factory could have gotten away with one that small, they would have. Remember, an AC is a heat exchanger, so any heat you remove from the cabin has to be transferred to the outside air. One that is too small would likely take forever to get the air cold or never really get it cold.

condenser is like an intercooler for your a/c, why get a smaller than stock one? we all know mazda already made all the heat exchangers on our cars tiny.

Well i was hoping to get one that is more efficient than the stock one for its size. I just dont see how im going to be able to mount the stock unit in my car because of the routing of my IC piping. I guess a small puller fan could be used.

So aeroquip line will not work for ac lines?

edit: nm about the aeroquip question. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...09247&D=309247

and heres a condensor i could maybe fit:

although this looks like its going out of my price range for a/c already

Sure, why not? Aeroquip makes fittings specifically for this. You will want to keep the hose diameters very close to what's on the car though.

the stock condenser is 22 by 10, that 18 by 14 is about the same size.

good point, i was looking around and i found that the stock civic or accord (dont remember) 93 condensor is about 12X12. If it works on that car any reason it wouldent work on mine? I could probably pick one of those up at a junk yard for 5$

check out globaldenso.com they have a new flexible ac line that incorporates the liquid and high pressure lines into one double walled line to aid in heat exchanging. they claim %5-%12 increase in cooling performance. feel like being a guinea pig??
