Starvation during Autox, help?
What do you guys do to prevent starvation during autox's other than running 3/4 tank of fuel.
Any different fuel pumps?
Differnet tank
Hate to run 100 lbs of fuel when I could run with 25 lbs or less.
Thanks

I would love to know that myself. I found out the hardway a couple times to stay about 3/4 tank. My engine cut out down a slalom 3 or 4 times. Hopefully there was no damage.
Let me know if you figure out a solution.

The fuel pick problem occurs only on high g-load left turns in the FD. Unfortunately, I dont believe it is legal to install an external reservoir nor an internal baffle in SS, SP, or SM2 classes. Best is to run close to full tank. It's actually better than running 1/2-3/4 tank cuz the half full scenario causes fuel slosh. There's a lot of weight shifting back and forth when it sloshes around whereas when it's full, it's more static and your handling will be more predictable.
Either that or what until the car completes the turn before you jump on the gas...but that's not the quick way to drive.

Come to think of it after you all mention it, my fuel starve only happens on hard left turns.
I guess you could install a fuel cell or some people use fuel tank foam to prevent sloshing. I have just been running on a full tank.
I mean really the only difference between a full tank and a 1/2 tank is 60lbs. I take passengers weighing 200lbs sometimes and that doesn't slow me down, so I doubt 60lbs of fuel will. Plus, by 6 runs, I am down to 3/4 tank anyway. I get like 1mpg when I autocross!
