after market starter / re. bad oem one
i feel that i am going to need a starter really soon. i am having to hit the key over 2-5 times on occasion while cranking the car. BUT it does not do it all of the time....i am inquiring about an aftermarket starter, besides a reman....you know, like the GM mini-starters....lightweight and more torquey....if anyone has any info.....hook me up.....
BTW. a mazda starter...[no reman avail]= $530.00
and a reman from the parts store=$220.00

I just got a Mazda re-man from Russel Automotive (Mazda Dealer) in Ellicott City, MD for $160 (with exchange) The price they gave me was WAY better than anyone of the regular parts stores else in the area... and they are pretty good on just about all the other factory parts I get. that's only good of course if you live in the Baltimore/DC area as the shipping would probably throw away anything you saved
you might want to check out Mazdaformance they are showing one for 5sp at $141.50... I've ordered stuff from them before also and the service I got was great
probably no reason for a high-torque aftermarket starter as it doesn't take much to turn a rotary over. I did look for one though when I needed a starter to see if I could save some money, but had no luck findaing any at all.
