If i were to get a stock, 3rd gen, what would be some of the first upgrades that i could do to help the performance of the car? Also that help to cool the engine down while driving and when it is sitting in the garage ofter driving? Anything that you can suggest that works, will be of great help.

a downpipe will help with performance and will keep the engine temps down a big. An aftermarker radiator will help the most cooling down the car but i wouldnt worry about that untill you get more performance upgrades ( or live in a really hot state). Also don't do more then three mods ( example: downpipe, intake, catback) without getting an upgraded ecu.

All the info you need + pics and how-to's

Newbies/Others LINKS TOO (MUST READ)
Links for the future FD owners..

http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/index.html

You will see that those 2 links above will cover most of the basics of the FD...model differences, reliability, ETC ETC.

Want parts ? But maybe not from the dealers...check here :

http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm

Please dont forget to search the archive...lots of useful info there too before posting a new thread..such as :
AST vs No AST
Boost issues
Model differences
as well as performance products that other forum members have..

Now the description of this section states it is for performance modifications and technical discussions...so please resist the urge to post links to things like EBAY making fun of someone's car...no matter how terrible, or other trivial dribble Please use the appropiate sections when making threads....

Body kits parts belong in the interior/exterior section
Wheels and suspension belong over there...
Please check the 20B section if you are a newbie wanting to put a 20B in your FD

Lets's all try to use a little common sense....

thanks,
Johnny FDMod

definately build from the bottom up. do reliabilty before performance, this includes, cooling, gauges, ecu, etc. you can do other things first but whatever you choose make sure you can keep track of your air/fuel ratios to keep from running lean and blowing the motor.
