starting the new motor...advice..

Okay, about to start up this motor. It's a reman from Fritz with 500 miles on it, so it HAS had some non-boost, babied break in time. Now, I am using the same TB I used with my old blown motor. At that time, I didn't know the motor was blown, so we adjusted the TB screws and TPS ( think we messed with the TPS) trying to smooth out the idle. So, I haven't touched the TB yet, and I want it to be at factory settings before I start the car. I know there is an OHM setting for the TPS I can take care of, but what about the two adjustment screws on the TB? Is there a specific setting for them I can go to that would be close to the original stock setting?

Also, is there a specific ignition timing that I need to be aware of and get set before I start as well? I just want it to be as smooth as possible!

All you should really need to do is to prime the fuel and oil systems, then just fire it up. You can check the TPS, but you won't really know what else needs to be adjusted until you get it started.

Basically with fuel , you are building pressure so fuel is there right away. With the oil, you are getting oil throughout the entire system BEFORE parts start to move against eachother.

Just pull out the EGI fuse and crank the motor for 10-15 seconds. Then crank it one more time for 10 seconds. put the fuse back in, then start it.
