Starting to Mod 94 RX-7, Need Help

alright guys, to put it bluntly, i know NOTHING about rx-7's or rotary's except some basic knowledge and that they look awesome. a friend came to me because he like's what i have done with my talon so i said i'd help him out. if any of you could help me with websites, places to order parts, what to replace first, or any other advice it would be much appreciated.

www.iluvmyrx7.com for a workshop manual.

First thing would be replacing the stock vacum hoses. Next would be a downpipe.

here are a few other classic sites.

How about some more information ...Is it bone stock ? there aint many of them left ....How many miles are on the motor , and is the original engine. Most of these cars have enough miles on them a " new motor " seems to be in all RX7 owners future.

As for what to do first , well theres plenty of relability mods you should do first . As in get a boost gauge, you need to know how they are working.Yank the stock vacume lines and get them replaced with silicone lines A water temp gauge helps, the stock one is more of a "add engine light " when its on its too late ....Either remove or replace the stock AST. Then you need to figure out what you want out of the car . Good luck

Why isn't your friend on the forum himself? I would think the owner should know more than the person helping him, unless he is paying you to work on it for him

alright, it is BONE stock, it only has i think 18000 miles, original engine, original EVERYTHING. this car is in mint condition.

and yeah he knows nothing about cars, which is why im helping him out with it. i'd be doing all the work, and learning in the process. i, along with about 5 others plan on opening a low scale, but quality speed shop in our area in the next year, so it would be a good opportunity to learn about the rotary and get some good advice. i'll keep you updated with pics and such.
thanks
