my stock tach was **** out of luck when i bought it so i finally bought a jdm cluster and swapped the tachs out, now the tach does a check sweep like my GReddy gauges, is this normal? having never had a working tach i wouldn't know. if not then WTF!!

Hmm, strange. I've had a '93-95 JDM cluster, tach was normal, and I have a '99 6 o'clock tach in my car, acts normal.

Does the tach act normally and read properly otherwise?

Hell, if it works, I'd consider that a cool feature! It could be an aftermarket tach or something.
