Question standard dash guage replacement?

Can the OEM shitty oil pressure and water temp guages be swapped straight our for some aftermarket ones??? The size looks to be about 52mm, but I haven't taken the dash out to see how they are mounted.

Can anyone give me a heads up??

TIA

Martin

The gauges themselves are fine. Its the senders that have problems (aside from the temp gauge which isn't linear). However, it's not an easy task to replace the gauges with aftermarket ones:

Thanks for the links guys. I was not planning on using the original senders, so that shouldn't be an issue. Seems like a good way to utilise otherwise redundant space.

MahjiK:

Thanks for the point thru

The swap is a pain and not for the faint of heat but still fairly straight forword, the holes in the "Gauge Holder" (the black plastic hood that holds the cluster) fit perfectly over the bezels on Autometer Sport-Comp and Ultra Light 52mm guages so only the cluster itself & some wiring needs to be modified. To add the OIL TEMP guage also requires a new Oil Filter Pedestal (or some other fitting) to accomodate the sender. Due to the oem design of the guage cluster I found it to be easier to replace all three guages than try to fit one or two in with the stock units.

it is the Oil Pressure sender that is a POS - the stock Water Temp is ok but NON-LINEAR by design (a poor choice by MAZDA imho) but can be linerized and made more functional.
