Stalling problem

Recently my FD3S has been sluggish. It usually happens when I'm attempting to accelerate after coming to a stop at a stop light or sign. I'll step on the gas pedal and it'll take a couple of seconds for my car to respond as it should. It feels like something's stuck and the needle won't even move higher than 2000 RPM.

I've noticed however that when I step on the brake really hard upon coming to a stop that I have no problem accelerating afterwards. The car is then as responsive as ever.

My friend thinks that brake master cylinder is going bad and is not properly releasing the calipers.

Anybody have any thoughts about this issue?
