Srt-4 Fmic
So are you saying that is a srt-4 fmic on your FD? It doesnt look bad from the front, looks like a greddy 2 row, but its a little ghetto rigged under the hood, especially the battery tie down. =)

Sorry, thought it was clear. Yes, I put an SRT-4 FMIC in my FD. I'm still not finished with everything, hence the battery "holdown", the intakes, and the exhaust pipe IC pipes, but it runs well.

How tall is the IC, I'm not sure what I'm looking at in the pictures but is it really short, like 5 or 6 charge rows? If so you're going to have some pressure drop problems unless you were just looking to replace the stock IC with something budget friendly. The shroud work is looking pretty nice in those pictures.

Original reasons I used the SRT-4 FMIC:
-I wanted to do something different
-FMIC kits are ridiculously expensive (although if you take into account the time it takes to make everything yourself they don't seem so expensive or ridiculous)
-SRT-4 FMIC was under $200 used (see above though)
-I don't like how the big FMICs have so much core behind the bumper (no air to the fins then what's the point)
-I don't like how the IC pipes pass between the Rad and FMIC making it impossible to have good shrouding to the rad
-I know the engineers who developed the SRT-4 FMIC, and it's a better intercooler than a lot out there
-I wanted to use some DCX parts so people at work would give me less crap about my car

Do you mean someone else has done an SRT-4 IC in an FD or that others have done a bottom feeder opening to their rad with an FMIC? Either way, send me some pics, and I'd appreciate it.
Actually, I had planned on a bottom feeder type opening if the car doesn't stay cool enough. Thanks for the valid advice though.
The fab stuff is a work in progress. I'm doing the best I can with the limited tools I have. I already have a good idea of what I want to do for the second iteration of the shrouding. I need access to some better tools to do exactly what I want though.

Hmmm, I have another SRT-4 IC with bad end tanks. PM me if you are intested.
One down fall of the SRT-4 intercooler is one of the endtank has a oval shaped output so it may be harder to use...

I just used two of the stock SRT-4 IC hoses that go to the oval shaped endtank outlet. One for each side. It has worked fine so far. I ran the car for about 200 miles and didn't have any boost leaks.
nice work. i like the evo intercooler idea. my friend has an evo and i'll look closer at tomorrow but i might put a evo intercooler in a v-mount set up. can't wait to look at my friends evo now! good job with ducting looks really good
