Question SR-Motorsports Downpipe?

Hi all,

Now that I'm going on the 2 month anniversary of ordering my downpipe from M2 and still not having any notification of when I might even possibly get it, I've decided that I'm canceling my order. I haven't even been able to get ahold of these people and I've been leaving messages for 3 weeks.

I have heard good things about SR Motorsports and I saw that they have their own (custom?) downpipe. It's a bit steeper than the M2 one though at $329 and it kinda looks like a pettit dp.

It sure is nice to be able to call this place and have a living person pick up the phone (and then get transferred to "tech support" to be told that they have the DPs in stock and can ship the next morning!). What a difference from this joke of a company called M2.

Anyways, enough soapbox. I was wondering if anyone has tried the SRmotorsports DP and what they thought? I would like to get a dp that is as close to the quality, flow, and ease of install as the M2. What are your thoughts, please?

Thanks guys!

Hmmm, supposedly the SR dp is built to fit like the M2. At least that's what the gentleman I talked to told me....

I definately want to go with a dp that fits right on.

I haven't seen any good threads that really point at one particular downpipe being better than the others in terms of flow or quality. It seems to be a question of fitment and whether you want stainless steel or not.

I'd just get a used one here and spend the other $200 on something else. Or if you want new, I believe rx7store has them for ~$200

sr makes the best dp because they don't compromise the width of the pipe at the bend/flange were it bolts up to the manifold. This also makes it very difficult to install but thats the price you pay for performance. I'm selling mine (going single) if interested let me know.
Thanks,
Fritz

If you want an M2 downpipe, Rick's Rotary Performance has a used one for sale. My car is there getting a tune-up and having a DP installed and since they ran out of the house brand (RX-7 Fashion), they asked if I wanted the used M2, which I declined, opting for new instead. Or, if you want an RX-7 Fashion DP, they're getting a bunch in tomorrow. On the site it says $329, but I was told it's $290.

Question: Anyone have any comments on the HKS DP?....in looking at it there appears to be a bend or rather indentation close to where it's mounted to the manifold and I'm just wondering that restricts flow or interferes with performance at all?
