Spirit R Type A RX-7 Model 1:18 out now

Hi guys,

if you did not recognize it, there is a brand named autoArt that produces the Spirit R Type A RX-7 in a 1:18 model. Previously there was nothing similar on the market. I always look for such a model and this week i stumbled upon and advert on amazon. i instantly bought one and all i can say is, its very nice! There is so much detail on it, its much better than i expected.

If you also looked for such a model, buy one. you wont regret.

I collect only Kyosho 1:18 models - and have one for (almost) every car I have owned. I prefer Kyosho because they have been, in my opinion, superb in every way. That said, I ordered one of these few months ago and have been blown away. It's on par with any Kyosho I have and just simply reminds you how beautiful the Spirit-R is.

I agree with unreal-icarus - buy one. you won't regret it.

...and for those in the states - you can find them on eBay pretty reasonably priced.

Link to the black one -

Amazon.com: Mazda RX-7(FD) Spirit R Type A Brilliant Black 1/18 by Autoart 75986: Toys & Games Amazon.com: Mazda RX-7(FD) Spirit R Type A Brilliant Black 1/18 by Autoart 75986: Toys & Games

It's $160 for one. IMHO, a lot to pay for a model that sits on your desk, but it is cool and well detailed. The old Kyosho models are pricey on Ebay all the time, so this is a good option if you want one.

I have an old Kyosho one on my desk, bought it new ages ago for like $60

BTW, they also have it in other colors, which is nice.

Dale

I would love to get one of these if they came in red. But I could find many other places to spend 140-160 on my car instead!

Yeah... $160 is Kyosho money and it is an expensive hobby to get into. Definitely not for everyone - but it really is beautiful in person.

the kyosho ones are the old rx-7 versions right. this one is the only 99-2002 bodied 1:18 one i have ever seen. I agree with you, the high price sucks, but damn ...

Correct. All Kyosho's are pre-99 styling.

If I'm not mistaken they were offered in RHD & LHD. R1/R2 styling with OEM USDM wheels and later the center mount "whale tail" spoiler w/ JDM BBS wheels. Red, black, silver, yellow - never a Montego Blue or Chaste White (or Pearly White) as far as I know.

...there is no 1:18 FC3S that I've EVER found. Not Kyosho, not AutoArt, no one.

The closest I found was a 1:24 (I think?) model of the Initial D white FC. I believe Jada Toys made that - but I can't attest to quality.
