Question Why not ask the vendor???

Why not ask Bryan (rx7boutique)? They should tilt if they have the tilt rails...

They tilt. I think thats what he meant. They move up and down and you can tilt them (in a rocking chair motion) back and forth. THEY ARE TERRIFIC. I was surprised by how comfortable they were. Everyone who sat in them loved them.

They don't all come with the tilt rails.....

i LOOOVE my Spirit R Recaros. Lightweight, look amazing, comfortable, bolt right in, oem safety standards.

Hell, Mr Ihor Huk (all 245 pounds of him) fit in them on the trip down to DGRR back in 2007 after I picked them up from Ramy/FDNewbie

The right rails are very hard to find and expensive to boot. Ask Bryan for them. You can't raise them up that much higher or else they will hit the top. I read that the stock rails would provide the most height. Have you tried sitting on books or something? How tall are you?

Yes, TILT IS AWESOME.

Around $3000 I think for the pair? I got a screaming deal from Ramy. Did I mention the seats themselves (w/out rails) only weigh around 10 kg ?

The tilt rails for the Mazda Recaros are virtually impossible to find. They are approx $1200 each from the dealer but show backorder status. My seats came from Ramy with two USDM passenger rails.

Wow, $1,200 each just for rails!! Makes me feel a little better knowing that I have tilt rails... never knew how rare they were.

I just went to Mazda and priced a pass and drivers side rail. The pass side (from a RHD perspective) is just under 115000 yen (about 1250) and the drivers side is about 150 bucks more than that. Mazda had no problem placing the order for me if I wanted it right then and said it was about a 10 day lead time on the order. I will forgo the tilt feature and buy some 50 dollar used rails. Tilt doesnt mean that much to me. I have a pair of the seats right now sitting in my closet. Unfortunatly, no one is willing to buy them without rails. The price would double, if I were to sell them, if I bought the rails from Mazda. So, I will find a pass side rail without the tilt and install that one in my car and turn the other into a Forza 3 gaming seat.

I will go into the garage and just sit in mine. They could make lounge chairs out of them. And N3philum, you made me laugh about turning your other seat into a Forza 3 gaming seat. That is what I did with my original passenger side seat after I got my Recaros. My virtual RX-7:

I hate all of you!

I remember when I was with Bryan I sat in some RZ's and the tilt function is sweet. It's up front on the rail.

I'm 5'5 and weigh 140 and I fit perfect in them. Almost like it was a match made in heaven. I really want some of these seats.

No luck for me fitting in these things, 6'3", 245, and broad

I barely fit in the rx7, lol

I've been thinking of finding another recaro that may fit, but i haven't had time to measure to start looking for other seats

By up and down I meant the tilt function, it is a very cool feature. Now, I could be wrong on this but I am only speaking from experience:

ALL recaro rz/spirit r seats I have seen come with the tilt function. Now, recaro made the exact same seat for the Miata /NB in Japan and those did not come with the tilt function and I *believe* those drop into the FD as well. So, for those who have the recaro seats without the tilt function, those may actually just be Miata recaro's being pawned off as rz/spirit-r seats. Not 100% on this, just speaking from what I have seen.

hey Bryan

I looked at the pictures you sent me last time: yes the rails are different. I don't have the middle handle to adjust tilt. I'm pretty sure mine are from Spirit-R. The guy I bought from told me he got it from FDNewbie. I don't know the story why mine are not on the right rails...

I don't think you have the spirit R rails. Just because you got seats and rails from Ramy, doesn't mean the rails are the OEM ones, unless he specified they were. You can't really assume anything.
