Ok, I got you now Dcrosby. I also don't understand why anyone would pay install these seats for street driving just to look "cool". Pretty damn stupid, IMO.

EDIT: BTW, I still have the stock leathers and have been to Buttonwillow three times this year.... The leather definitely sucks, especially in 90F+ heat....

Just a friendly warning. DO NOT use/buy corbeau seat brackets for your corbeau (or any other) seat. while they are fd specific and do line up with the factory mounting bolts, they are nearly useless if you are more than 5'8" tall (less if you plan on wearing a helmet). i had a cr-1 with a corbeau bracket and could not sit in my car without my head touching the headliner (i'm 5'11"). in addition, you can not easily adapt your factory seat belt mounts to the brackets. just a warning from personal experience. if you plan on using corbeau seats, fab your own brakets and save the headache of putting them in and then taking them out immediately, like i did.

or how about drilling in your own holes from the same pattern as the stock fd rails onto the corbeau seat?

is that possible?

"Prove it!"

not sure if this link is going to work:

http://www.recaro.jp/bfmatch/matchin...9&cye=infinity

essentially - it will work, but requires an additional 'side adaptor'

FWIW, feed specifically advertise a 'low position seat rail' - which may or may not work with the spg (I have no idea)

For those of us who are less handy in fabbing stuff...what kind of shop would you be looking for to fab seat rails for you? Cuz I wouldn't know where to begin...

Actually worse than the stiff muscles is the 1" diameter purple bruise on the side of my left knee from bracing it against the door panel -- it hits the ridge above the speaker.

Stuff like this reminds me exactly what makes the Spirit-R such a badazz car. MONEY.

If I was rich enough to buy those seats without a care in the world, I would...otherwise..HELL no. Just give me some cheapy Sparcos or whatever...as long as it looks decent, and holds my azz in place, I don't care.

Jeezus...my wife would flip if I wanted those...that's like..a good set of rims and tires!

Props to owning the pair....

'spirit r' seats?

are they specific? because, as I look at the pic again, they seem identical to rz seats

If I'm not mistaken, the RZ seats are black, and the Spirit R seats are red...

RZ was from 97-99 I believe, and Spirit R in 2000 and 2001...after which came the RS model.

Feel free to correct me of I'm slightly off on this info...this is off the top of my head...

Nah...they came in optional red or black in the RZ model. The Red gets stained easier than the black (obviously).

I've sat in these seats....wow. They're pretty damn comfortable. They're padded in all the right places so even if you want to take a cruise, it isn't as bad as you think.

Thanks for clearing that up. But no black in the Spirit R, correct? Just red?

I raced a spirit R about 2 years ago and the car didn't have red seats so I'm assuming that it had optional red or black.

You bastard you! lol...I just wanna SEE one! hehe

Check out www.ttrex.com/RX7History.html
It's not working right now (for me), but you can still see the last cached version at http://216.239.39.104/search?q=cache...pirit+rs&hl=en

I hope someone saves that info real quick cuz it looks like that site might be taken down VERY soon (unpaid dues)

Anyways, it seems that the RZ did intially offer both red and black. Then in 2000, the RZ Limited Edition offered red only. The 2002 Spirit R was only red though... (check out the tables toward the end)

EDIT: The page seems to be working fine now all of a sudden lol...go figure!
