Nice. Too bad they're 5 times the price of Sparcos, i'd love to have a set.

Forgive my noobness, but do the retail Recaro seats fit in our cars? Those Spirit-R seats look like they've been molded to fit the RX-7 interior. Subaru and Mitsubishi sedans just use regular Recaros with special rails for their car, without changing the molding of the seat.

Or you could just buy some Recaro SPGs and pay extra to have them finished in red for less than $2000/pair....

As far as being reclinable, those are track seats essentially, and aren't for cruising around town in. You want reclinable, get a set of Corbeau CR-1s.

True, but I can get all kinds of cheap racing seats recovered 10 times for that price. Afterall.. They are "racing" seats, right? If I wanted to be exclusive, I'd buy Ferarri.

Just bustin your ***** Zach.. The seats are beautiful.

i like the exposed kevelar backing. I wouldn't by a set of seats unless i had got a feel for sitting in them. Imagine paying that kind of money for a set of seats, install them in your car, sit in them and they feel like ****. Instant buyers remorse.

For my taste, the steering wheel isn't adjustable, if the seat isn't I'm not going to pay more to make my car more uncomfortable than it allready is, especially for more $$.

And If I'm building a race car I'm buying a milk crate and stapping it down, and putting the $2600 or $5200 respectively into Periphreal Porting and a Haltech... not seats... going fast is more important than looking cool in the pits...

They can but like any other seat you need to buy special rails for mounting. The SpiritR seats come with pre done rails made for the fd. Sparco and any other seats you have to custom fit the rails in the fd.

You can get rails to fit the Recaro SPG from Recaro in Japan. Corbeau has FD-specific brackets.

Have you ever been to the track? A good supportive 1-piece seat not only helps for driving fast but is safer than the stock seats. I know my entire body is sore after a track day, because my whole body is straining to keep me planted in the damn stock seat through the corners....

Yes I have Rynberg, Buttenwillow, in my old '94 with leather seats
I agree a good seat is essential to driver comfort, the issue for me is, spending $3-5K on seats, when spearco's and a custum rail, will do for 1/3 or less. and my point was if you're truely making a race car, spirit-r or not has no bearing on your performance, getting good parts and installing them properly does. So people who buy these are inhibiting their comfort, at the significant cost of $$.

Comfort
Cost
Performance

I can sacrifice Comfort, for less cost and better performance. Or I could sacrifice Performance for better cost, and comfort. Or I could Gain Comfort and Performace at the price of Cost... I just don't want to loose 2 of the 3
