Hello ppl.
I don't know if this is a problem or thats how it supposed to be but i am used to my previous honda integra where i was speedshifting at redline without any probs. I've tried that several times on my FD first to second gear speedshifting at redline and i hear a GRRRR and a small hesitation. When i delay the shifting a bit the gear shifts smooth.
Is that a broken synchro or something or its normal?

fast change just before the redline so you don't have drop of rpm's

My friend appears to have blew out 3rd gear on his Supra doing that. He's running true twin mode and wanted to get rid of the lag for the split second after shifts. So he would stay in it about 10-15 percent throttle during the shift.
Honestly I would not recommend it at all. Unless your not concerned about a tranny rebuild.

i step off the trottle man i just shift very fast and it grindles from 1st to second gear. With some small delay on shifting its fine.

Does it grind if you shift slowly? Synchros need time to work, to bring the two meshing gears up to the same speed. It's possible (though unlikely) that you're outshifting the synchro, and so it grinds when you shift "mad quick yo."
Honestly though, take the car to a track and "speedshift" for a couple runs, then shift normal for a couple of runs. From what I hear, speed of shift has very little affect on E.T. and trap speed. It's probably not worth the extra wear and tear on the tranny.

You can only shift as fast as the syncronizers can engage. To learn the tranny, you should start with shifts at a slower speed (hand speed, not RPM) and then gradually do it a bit faster until it won't work.
Starting at a lightning fast shift and then working slower also works, but risks damage to the tranny.
In the end, what's the point of trying to destroy your transmission with abusive shifting. If it is for street racing, that's a shame.
Get an automatic vehicle if wining impromptu drag races is your sole goal in life. The FD is best when enjoying the rush of power throughout the rev range and then doing a prompt upshift so you can enjoy the next gear. Raping the tranny is pointless.

I agree with you guys but i just wanted to see how fast it shifts and it just happened so i worry about it.
No when i shift slowly it doesn't grind at all. Even at high RPM's when i shift normal it doesn't grind. It does it only when i push the gear really fast/hard to shift, so most probably i outshift the synchro...

Check if it's "you" or the shifter. You don't have to be speeding to shift very quicky. You could be releasing the clutch slightly before the lever is completey in.
Try pushing the clutch all the way to the floor "slowly" and then shift the lever as "fast" (& furious lol) as you can, making sure not to release the clutch untill after you're in gear. ...did it grind? Do the same thing but now move the shift lever like granpa on prozak (slow motion) ...did it grind? If you answered yes&no then sounds like synchro. Otherwise sounds like it's your shifting.
