Speedometer not working

Hey Guys, I've got a small issue. My speedometer isn't working *correctly*. I will be going along and it will stay at zero, However when I boost it will rise to maybe 20mph and hold there but when I return to a cruise it will fall back to zero. I checked the sensor out, spun with a bit of resistance (not much though) so I stuck it back in and a slight change but it's still not working. Also it will do the "rise to 20 or 40mph" in every gear. My trip meter isn't working correctly I don't believe. It will show the miles when the speedo shows 20 but no gain in miles when its at zero. Anyone know how much a new speed sensor is? Thanks guys

Jack

Is the odometer not reading also? I would try replacing the sensor.

The sensor is about $160 with the gear. There should be some resistence to its turning as the magnets are pulling on the coils . To check the sensor replace it with garfinkles while he is still waiting for the BNR turbos to come back, if ever .

Odometer works correctly. I will replace the sensor. Duboisr -> I'm going to come down some time soon and try out David's Purple Box and if the speedometer still isn't working by then, I will check it with his. Thanks Everyone
