speedo dead and tach is off
hello all,
i have a few questions to ask of you,
1.) ok so when i bought my FD my USDM speedometer needle doesn't move at all but the digital read out (DRO) works just fine is there any way i can fix the needle to make it operate again? i am currently driving it with the JDM gauge cluster in it reading in Kilometers for almost 2 years and i want the USDM one back in there.
2.) is there a way to remove the speed limiter (governor) because my JDM cluster goes only to 180K which if i remember right is like 110mph-111.85mph (when it hits that 180k mark it just shuts the engine down till it drops back down to 100MPH again then it will kick back on) the USDM goes up to 240k? (180MPH)
3.) in the USDM cluster my tach was off at idle it was reading 1,500-2,000RPM but when i tried to turn the idle down to where it read 800rpm, it would chug and die, when it was reading it was at 1,500-2,000rpm it didn't sound high at all it sounded like it was at normal idle so i put it back to 1,500 and just mad sure when i was driving it didn't hit redline just to be safe. but when i put the JDM cluster in without changing anything under the hood it read 800RPM is there anyway to re-calibrate the Tach so i can use my USDM cluster again?
thank you

There is a pot you can turn in the tach to calibrate it. I had to do that when I swapped the gauge face on my tach.
Dead speedos are a BITCH to fix. I'm trying to fix one right now and not having much fun with it .
