Speedo Calibrating Question??

I did a search for about an hour and didn't come up with anything. My speedometer reads about 10 to 13 mph faster than what it is going on the highway. It seems close at slower speeds but the other day my brother was next to me in my Jeep and he doing about 75 and my speedometer was showing about 87. Then we tried my moms Taurus and I was still faster than what the Taurus showed. Is there any way to calibrate it?? And can I do it?? You have to adust it in the transmission right? Please help me. Oh yeah I have 17" Momo rims with larger tires. I don't know the size off hand so I will have to look later. Thanks Josh

Garfinkle has made new gears for the sending unit out of plastic or nylon . The sending unit is ecentric and can be adjusted for the bigger or smaller gear . Try that .

So I just need a larger or smaller gear on my sending unit? Is this hard to replace? And how much are they?
