Speed limiter on 1998 FD

i have a 1998 fd, as far as i know i have a 16bit ecu.. what i was thinking is cutting the green/red wire from the ecu will that effect my ABS unit some how...

not sure if the wiring is the same on a 16 bit ecu. but if it is, just cut the wire leaving enough slack and put a connector on it so you can re-attach it with ease if it does mess something up for you?
i have abs in my 93 with the 8 bit ecu and it doesnt mess anything up. but worst comes to worst you just reconnect the wire and you're back to square one.

I've read some of your posts and it seems like you're reaching the point where you'd want a different ECU. Don't bother cutting the limiter. Buy a different computer.

My car has a JDM 16-bit ECU and I cut the same green/red wire everyone talks about and it worked for me. As far as the ABS, I didn't know that could be a problem, but I haven't had any issues with it.

I am in the process of getting a powerFC though, lol

yes guys i agree with you all abt the power fc.. thing is back home in bangladesh there is no speed limit on the airport highway... and this 180 limit really bothers me.. maybe 200-300 meters and i this the limiter.. kind of irritating...

another thing is even if i get a power fc i wont have the money to buy the datalogit.. thus tuning will be very hard and i think using the base map and going over 180 is not going to be safe.. right ??

lets see how things go i will try to cut the wire first if that doesnt work or something is fishy with the abs then i will put it back in

but how does HKS SLD work on FD's... any news on that..

thanks for all the info guys much appreciated.
