Spark plugs (newbie)

HELP!!
I'm replacing the plugs. I have everything taken off so that's not the problem. When I remove the spark plug wire what I'm looking at is a sleeve that the spark plug fits into (I guess). All I see is the hollow sleeve. Does this come off to get to the spark plug..? How?

thanks

dave

I pulled off the rubber end cap to the spark plug wire. Inside the rubber end cap of the spark plug wire is a narrow metal sleeve. Where the rubber boot fits onto the engine is just a hollow sleeve sticking out...
