Question spark plug question...

ok, I usually use 9's all around, but I had to go to the dealer since nobody had my plugs in stock, so I have 7's and 9's like stock now. well, anyway, this is the first time I changed the plugs since I got my pettit ECU and a midpipe. I got really scared when I took out the trailing plugs because they were pretty white with a slight hint of black on them and I know lean is not good. well, next I take out the leading plugs praying they were not white and they were not. actually the were pitch black which is rich, which I like.

Anyway, my questions:

1) is the difference in coloration of the leading and trailing plugs supposed to be that big? is that normal or is somehting wrong?

2) will running the stock temp plugs instead of 9's all around be safe for my mods?

Thanks for the help.

CAN I ADD A QUESTION.

on the plug wires. L1 is front leading right.

I use 9's. And first time I put them in, I detonated once at 5 psi =D

i am confused about this matter, mazda motorsports just sold me a set of 9's all around because they said it would be safer with my mods even though i'm only runnin 10 lbs of boost. However why would japan spec 9's and 7's if 9's all around are safer? if they are safer how come people are detonating with them??? I am a little concerned about installing them now.
