FD is the chassis code. Rotary engine is the kind of engine thats in the car. heres a good site to explain it.

FD is the production code for the 3rd generation RX-7 chassis. "FD" is in every VIN # of a 3rd gen. RX-7.
A rotary engine uses internal combustion to produce power pulses that move in a rotational direction (around and around) instead of the reciprocating motion (up and down) of a piston engine. The inside of a rotary engine sort of looks like a triangle rotating around inside of a figure 8 shaped chamber.

But seriously it has a good library of the basics of everything rotary, and make sure to check out the animations, if you're like me you're a visual kind of learner, that means pictures are a definate plus
For more rx-7 specific stuff, I can gurantee you'll find what you're looking for here on the boards, or at least links to where you can find specific info, but make sure to use the SEARCH function first before posting any questions, it'll save a lot of grief....
