sound dampening vs HP on exhausts
Say someone had downpipe+midpipe+high flow exhaust with no cats or silencers. Then you had another rx-7 with the same mods, besides the exhaust had a Downpipe+presilencer+resonated midpipe+high flow exhaust e.g. megan N1. so my question is how much HP would i lose compairing setup 1 to setup 2?

The biggest diference is the 1st setup's owner is going to be nearly deaf, and always light headed from all the exhaust gasses. My guess is the power difference would be minimal with the high flow and the silencer, because thats how I'm goin

built my own engine
high flow cat is not high flow
most of them have the same cell count as the stock cat, which was designed to be high flow, they just have a shorter cat (less length, same density)

93blackFD is right.
Most of the high flow cats out there are a joke.
More often then not they will melt and go to **** quicker than a stock main cat on a modded FD.

I have the first setup - DP, MP 3" magnaflow muffler and its really not that loud until the 2nd turbo kicks in (then it howls) but for daily driving its fine, and I haven't noticed any extra exhaust gas smell then when I had the Main cat.
Hope that helps. . . .
